Oak does lead the way when it comes to the hardness of the wood, as Pine is a soft wood it is more susceptible to knocks and dents. Oak can be slightly more expensive but the quality does shine through with a beautiful grain and sleek design and contemporary style. Pine is cheaper than Oak but has a more traditional look and style to it.
